Education: Completion of high schoolCredentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Standard First Aid Certificate, Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate, Blowout Prevention Certificate, Well Head Boom Truck Operator Trade Certification, Special Oil Well Operator (boiler) Certificate, General Oilfield Driver Improvement, Rig Work Fall ProtectionExperience: 2 years to less than 3 yearsLanguages: Speak English, Read English, Write EnglishWork Setting: Drilling and well service contractorOil and Gas Well Drilling Worker Specific Skills: Align and manipulate sections of pipe or drill stem from a platform on the rig derrick, Operate and maintain drilling rig diesel motors, transmissions and other mechanical equipment, Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigsOil and Gas Well Services Operator Specific Skills: Drive well services truck to well site, Attach pumps and hoses to wellhead, Operate hydraulic pumping systemsAdditional Skills: Train and supervise floorhands, assistants and helpers, Write daily basic progress reportsSecurity and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), Drug testOwn Tools Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, GlovesWork Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Large workloadWork Site Environment: Outdoors, At heights, Dangerous, Wet damp, Noisy, Hot, Cold refrigeratedTransportation Travel Information: Valid driver s licence, Willing to travel, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel regularly, Drive manual transmission vehicleWork Location Information: Remote location, Various locationsAbility to Supervise: 1 to 2 people, 3-4 peopleEssential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning |
